Mysterious Duffer Brothers “Event Film” Set for 2028 at Paramount
With their hit Netflix series, “Stranger Things” (pictured above), wrapped up, the Duffer Brothers (Matt and Ross) are eyeing their first big project not related to the series (at least, we don’t think so), since 2016. Variety reports that the duo have set a date for their mysterious feature film with Paramount for 2028. The move comes as the first under a four-year deal with the studio.
At this time, we have no plot details, other than the pic has been labeled an “event film”.
The Duffers will write and direct the project.
The project is being developed by the Duffers’ production company Upside Down Pictures.
Believe it or not, this is not the first feature from the Duffers. Before they found success with “Stranger Things”, the duo released the horror film, Hidden, in 2015. This next project will mark their return to their roots, so to speak. Fans of “Stranger Things” may not be ready for it to be over, but I have to imagine the Duffers are more than ready to get back to working on something outside of the long-running series.
Look for the Duffers’ new film to arrive in theaters on November 3rd, 2028 via Paramount.
