Lauren LaVera and Rory Culkin to Walk the Aisle of Horror Film ‘Red Wedding’ from the ‘Saw X’ Writers!

Lauren LaVera (the Terrifier franchise) and Rory Culkin (Scream 4) have signed on to star in horror film Red Wedding for Gulfstream Pictures, reports Deadline.
Josh Stolberg is directing from a script he co-wrote with Saw franchise collaborator, Pete Goldfinger. The two wrote Jigsaw, Spiral, and Saw X together.
The film “follows a teenager and her stepmother who are kidnapped and taken to a remote location as part of a ransom plot, soon discovering their captors are the least of their worries when a deadly bride and groom arrive and begin picking them off one by one.”
This sounds like a multi-layered home invasion film that would result if Ready or Not‘s Grace actually went crazy and married the guy, then embarked on a psychotic killing spree together. Consider me ready to attend this bloody marriage.
Mike Karz and William Bindley are producing for Gulfstream alongside Amy Kim and Jamie Burke for Lifeboat Productions.
Said Gulfstream, “Red Wedding is exactly the kind of bold, high-concept genre film we love to champion — smart, unpredictable, and unapologetically intense. Following our long relationship with Josh Stolberg as a writer, we’re excited to now work with him as a director. Along with the incredible pairing of Lauren LaVera and Rory Culkin, we’re thrilled to bring a fresh, elevated take on horror to audiences. It’s a wild ride with real character stakes.”
LaVera has blown up in the horror genre since starring as the “final girl” to Art the Clown’s psychotic killer in Terrifier 2-3. She’s since appeared in titles such as The Well and Twisted, with more on the way.
Culkin, meanwhile, has been creeping out fans since a young age with films like Signs. Though he’s perhaps best known in horror circles for playing Ghostface Charlie in Scream 4.
