‘Scream 7’s’ Anna Camp to Star in Psychological Survival Thriller, ‘Serpent’

Scream 7‘s Anna Camp has been set to star in and executive produce an adaptation of Warren Adler‘s psychological survival thriller, Serpent, reports Deadline this morning.
The film “follows the harrowing escalation of old resentments and bitter recriminations when an ambitious actress agrees to reunite with her estranged father and troubled brother on a week-long trek through the unforgiving Wyoming wilderness. What begins as a desperate family bonding trip rapidly devolves into savage violence and brutal psychological warfare.”
Thomas Marchese (Fallen) will direct from a script he co-wrote with Jessub Flower, reuniting the two after they worked on From Black together.
Also executive producing are Michael Adler, Jonathan Adler and Madeline Adler for Adler Entertainment Trust. Kelly Frazier will produce for K7 Storytellers.
Said Michael and Jonathan Adler told us, “Our father had an unparalleled gift for exposing the fragile, often terrifying fault lines within family dynamics. With Thomas Marchese’s visceral directorial vision and Anna Camp’s incredible depth as an actor, Serpent is going to bring that tension to life in a way that modern thriller audiences won’t forget.”
Perhaps best known for her role in the Pitch Perfect films, Camp recently made a turn in Scream 7 that should have any genre fan curious to see what levels of intensity she’ll real in a straight up survival thriller.
