‘War Machine’ Sequel In Works at Netflix Following Massive Success on the Streamer

A sequel to Netflix’s sci-fi action film War Machine is officially in the works at the streamer following making the list of the most-streamed movies on the service, reports Deadline.

The first War Machine follows the recruits of a special ops group that encounters a deadly force. Based on the title, you can probably guess what sort of force that is.

No word yet on plot details for the sequel, though star Alan Ritchson is likely to return.

Patrick Hughes will return to direct and co-write with James Beaufort.

Hughes will also produce alongside Todd Lieberman for Hidden Pictures, Range Media Partners’ Rich Cook, and Hughes’ producing partner, Greg McLean, through their Huge Film banner. Alex Young also will produce for Hidden Pictures, and Valerie Bleth Sharp will executive produce.

The outlet notes that War Machine has reached 139 million views on Netflix since debuting on March 26th, making it one of the 10 most popular original films to ever premiere on the streamer.

Stay tuned to Dread for more details as we learn them.
