The legendary Tim Curry (IT, The Rocky Horror Picture Show) has signed on to reprise his role in slasher Stream 2: Sudden Death, reports Variety.

Other returning cast members include David Howard Thornton (Terrifier) and Damien Maffei (The Strangers: Prey at Night). Stream 2: Sudden Death will also feature the return of original Art the Clown actor Mike Giannelli, who is coming out of retirement for the film.

No word yet on plot details, but the first film followed people who become trapped at a hotel and are hunted by killers competing for the best kill.

“Impractical Jokers” alums Brian Quinn and Joe Imburgio penned the script.

Michael Leavy returns to direct.

Fuzz on the Lens Productions (Terrifier 2-3) is producing the project.

Said Leavy, “Tim Curry is someone who has inspired generations of horror fans and filmmakers alike. From the beginning, we envisioned his character as part of a much larger story within the Stream universe. The first film only scratched the surface, and we’re excited to bring him back in a bigger role that audiences will really respond to.”

Added producer Jason Leavy, “Having the opportunity to work with Tim Curry was already surreal, but knowing where this story was headed made it even more special. His appearance in the original film was designed to plant the seeds for something bigger, and Stream 2: Sudden Death finally allows us to start pulling back the curtain on a much larger scale.”
