Clash of the Titans Redux Finds Helmer

Clash of the Titans remake helmer namedNo matter where you are right now, I’m sure you can hear the sound of the damned crying out in fear as their toasty, warm home for a millennia becomes colder and colder by the second; yes, dear readers, hell has frozen over. Why?

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen helmer, Stephen Norrington, is directing the Clash of the Titans remake according to Variety.

All right, it could be worse, it could the much-hated Paul W.S. Anderson, I guess but … well it’s still pretty bad. Though Blade was surely a good enough movie, that’s about all on the guy’s directorial resume that’s worth ever mentioning again. Why/how did he get this gig?

The only somewhat good news is that Empire Strikes Back screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan worked on the script, but considering that his last produced screenplay was for the God awful Dreamcatcher … well, hope dwindles fast.

Ray Harryhausen, if you’re reading this, please make sure they do your work justice. Consider this: Do you even remember who directed the first Clash of the Titans? Probably not, you only remember that it featured some of the most badass stop-motion you had ever seen. Take that away and put in a so-so director and what do you have?
