The House By the Cemetery’s Bob Returning to Screen for First Time in Decades for Slasher, ‘Run!’

If I were to ask you about Lucio Fulci’s The House By the Cemetery, it’s likely that the first thing to come to mind would be Bob. Played by a then young Giovanni Frezza, the character is known amongst horror circles as one of the most obnoxious kids to ever appear on screen. Well, Fangoria has some fun news today, as it turns out Frezza is returning to the screen for slasher film, Run!, his first appearance in forty years!
The film “follows Run, the first-ever masked slasher, through the eras of his career—from the gritty 70s homestead killings to the neon-soaked, merchandising-heavy 80s, and into the quippy, self-aware 90s. Follow the life of a pioneering masked slasher who has become a relic of the past. As the style of horror shifts in pop culture, Run decides that you might not be able to teach an old dog new tricks, but that there might be more than one way to skin a cat!”
Sean Stewart, Marti Belle, Larkan Danielle, Aaron Williams and Gary Kroeger also star.
Ricky Glore directed the film for NKY Films and Mediatrix Films.
Kroeger is also an executive producer on Run!.
Along with The House By the Cemetery, Frezza appeared in films such as A Blade In the Dark, as well as Manhattan Baby, once again working with Fulci. He last appeared in the cult favorite, Demons, directed by Lamberto Bava, before, as the outlet notes, deciding to step away and pursue a career in technology.
I don’t know about you all, but I can’t wait to see what Frezza brings to his first role in decades. Whatever he saw in the project, it was enough to make him want to come back to the screen. That’s plenty for us to at least be curious.
Run! is set to begin production this September, with a release intended for late 2027 or early 2028.
