‘Scary Movie’ Posters Parody Everything From ‘Weapons’ to ‘Backrooms’ [Gallery]

Tickets are now on sale, and Paramount Pictures is celebrating with a series of new posters for Scary Movie, each spoofing one of the classic horror films the franchise parodies.
For those keeping count, here are some of the movies lampooned in Scary Movie: Terrifier 3, Weapons, Sinners, A Quiet Place, Halloween, Annabelle, MA, Get Out, The Substance, and M3GAN – it even takes multiple jabs (or stabs, if you will) at the new Scream films, which is the main reason the 2000 Scary Movie is so damn good.
The new posters take loving jabs at everything from Zach Cregger’s Weapons to Jordan Peele’s Nope, Backrooms, Ma, Sinners, Smile, and even The Substance.
The studio also announced an opening night fan event to celebrate its theatrical release. The biggest fans of the iconic comedy franchise will have the ultimate opportunity to experience Scary Movie, with special rewards, at Opening Night shows on Thursday, June 4th at 7PM (local time), presented at participating theatres and in immersive formats including Dolby Cinema, 4DX, D-Box, and other premium large screens.
Fans at Opening Night Fan Event screenings will also see special bonus content curated for this event. Each ticketholder will also receive a limited-edition collector’s art print given away at their local theatre – while supplies last.
Marlon Wayans (Shorty), Shawn Wayans (Ray), Anna Faris (Cindy), and Regina Hall (Brenda) reunite in Scary Movie alongside returning favorites and fresh faces to slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t final. Nothing is sacred. No trope survives. Every line gets crossed. The Wayans are back to cancel the Cancel Culture.
“People want to feel good again,” Marlon Wayans previously told Empire. “It’s been a long time since we felt good, and laughter is bonding, and when was the last time we all came together as a country, as a world, to just sit down and laugh at each other and with each other?”
Paramount Pictures will release Scary Movie in theaters everywhere on June 5, 2026.
