New ‘The Furious’ Clip Brings the Fury [Watch]

I have said it before and I will say it again…Lionsgate’s The Furious is one of the best martial arts films of the last decade. It has already drawn comparisons to The Raid. A new clip posted by DiscussingFilm gives just a hint of why those comparisons–and they are justified–have been made.
In it, stars Miao Xie and Joe Taslim violently confront each other, believing themselves to be enemies before realizing they’re on the same side.
“When Wang Wei’s young daughter is abducted by a ruthless criminal network, he turns to local authorities for help — only to be met with corruption and indifference. With no other options, Wei takes matters into his own hands, embarking on a relentless and violent mission to rescue her. Along the way, he forms an uneasy alliance with Navin, a determined journalist searching for his own missing wife. Together, the two men plunge into a brutal underworld, unleashing a relentless assault against the kidnappers in a high-stakes martial arts battle fueled by vengeance.”
Rated R for “strong bloody violence and language,” believe me when I say the film delivers everything it promises.
The Furious also stars Yang Enyou, Brian Le, and Joey Iwanaga.
Directed by Kenji Tanigaki, the film is written by Mak Tin Shu, Lei Zhilong, Shum Kwan Sin, and Frank Hui, and is based on a character originally created by David Morrell. Producers include Bill Kong, Shan Tam, and Frank Hui.
The Furious punches into theaters on June 12th.
