Aero Film Abducts Sci-fi Horror Comedy ‘Terrestrial’ for Theatrical Release

Indie distributor Aero Film is beginning to make a name for itself, having just abducted the sci-fi horror comedy Terrestrial for theatrical release, reports Variety.

In Terrestrial, “A long overdue reunion weekend spirals out of control for four college friends. The host, an aspiring science fiction writer on the verge of sudden success, fights to maintain his sense of reality — a struggle which becomes increasingly difficult in the face of otherworldly dangers.”

Jermaine Fowler, James Morosini, Pauline Chalamet, Edy Modica, Rob Yang and Brendan Hunt star.

Steve Pink (Grosse Pointe Blank) directed from a script by newcomers Samuel Johnson and Connor Diedrich.

Said Pink, “I’m thrilled Terrestrial is escaping into the world. We made a movie about friendship, paranoia, ambition, and the very unhealthy human instinct to invite your friends into your home and then slowly lose your mind in front of them. Also, it’s funny. Which is either a selling point or a cry for help. Go see it!”

Producers are Josh Jason and Molly Gilula for Hurley/Pickle Productions, Molly Conners for Phiphen, AJ Bourscheid and Austin Lantero at Range Media Partners, and Chalamet, Rachel Walden and Luca Balser for Gummy Films.

Personally, I adore Pink’s comedy and have no doubt he’s going to deliver an entertaining horror comedy with an alien-twist. We’re talking about the guy who wrote Grosse Pointe Blank and High Fidelity, as well as having directed a handful of episodes of “Santa Clarita Diet”–how I miss her–and “Cobra Kai”.

But don’t just take my word for it. Dread’s own Josh Korngut reviewed the film out of Fantasia 2025, describing it as, “a strange and charming little sci-fi of errors, one that feels both scrappy and effortless…held back by its rough edges, and while that can be fun, it ultimately thrives on personality before plot or polish.”

Stay tuned to Dread for more details on when we can expect Terrestrial to land in theaters.
