Shark Thriller ‘Zipline’ Team Reunites On Survival Drama ‘No Way Down’

The team behind shark thriller Zipline, which is being launched in the market at this year’s Cannes by Black Bear Pictures, is reuniting for another survival drama, No Way Down.
Plot details are currently being kept under wraps; however, producer Addam Bramich teases, “We’re excited to bring audiences something that genuinely gets under their skin.”
The high-concept survival thriller will begin principal photography in the fourth quarter of 2026, with many of the core Zipline creative team attached, notes Deadline.
Norwegian director Magnus Martens (SAS: Red Notice, Fear the Walking Dead), writer George Mahaffey Jr. (Chief of Station, Ice Fall), and cinematographer Nick Matthews (Last Breath, ISS, Hotel Mumbai) are all on board after previously collaborating on Zipline.
Starring Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four), Ross Butler (Shazam!), Holland Roden (Channel Zero), and Sonia Ammar (Scream), Zipline recently completed post-production and is screening for international buyers at Cannes.
As for the shark thriller film Zipline: “After reuniting for a relaxing getaway on a tropical island, a group of college friends finds their adventurous spirits tested to the limit when an exhilarating zipline excursion leaves them hanging hundreds of feet perilously over a deserted lagoon. As the temperature rises and the zipline begins to collapse, they work together to find a way down, but are horrified to discover that an even greater threat awaits them in the depths below,” reads the film’s official logline.
That cast includes Ioan Gruffudd (Bad Boys: Ride or Die, Fantastic Four), Ross Butler (Shazam!, To All the Boys: Always & Forever, Riverdale), Holland Roden (Teen Wolf, Mayans M.C.), and Sonia Ammar (Scream, The Equalizer 3).
More on both soon.
