‘Under Your Feet’: New Art for Chiller Starring ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’s Maribel Verdú!
Ahead of its Cannes screening and North American Premiere Gala at the Chinese Theatre during LALIFF, FilmSharks has unveiled new international artwork for Under Your Feet (Bajo Tus Pies).
Directed by cult filmmaker Cristian Bernard, known for festival, box office, and VHS/DVD hit 76 80 03, the film stars Maribel Verdú (The Flash, Pan’s Labyrinth, Y Tu Mamá También) and Sofía Otero (20,000 Species of Bees), who won both the Berlinale and Goya Award for her performance.
Under Your Feet follows Isabel (Verdú), who moves into a prestigious apartment building with her two children. The building offers unusually affordable rent but comes with a very peculiar admission process. Once approved and settled in, three elderly neighbors living on the lower floor begin turning their lives upside down.
Vercine has opened the fantasy thriller/chiller widely in theaters across Spain.
The film is expected to receive theatrical releases across Latin America, Asia, and Europe, with several new territory deals expected to be announced around Cannes.
Produced by Carlos Juarez (The Platform) of Basque Films and Guido Rud of FilmSharks, the film was made with the participation of Netflix Spain and RTVE.
The film was shot in Bilbao, Spain, and had its world premiere at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival before winning the Fantasporto Award for Best Actress for Verdú.
