‘Passenger’ Was Allegedly Filmed Near the Hunting Grounds of a Notorious Serial Killer

Some eerie news for you all this morning, as IG account BuzzingForHorror has brought to our attention that André Øvredal‘s upcoming horror film, Passenger, was allegedly filmed near the hunting grounds of a notorious serial killer!
Passenger was filmed across Washington State, not far from Green River, where the Green River Strangler left the bodies of his first five victims. His real name was Gary Leon Ridgway. He was convicted of murdering forty-nine women between 1982 and 1998 in the northwestern United States. A true monster more horrific than anything we may see in Øvredal’s film.
BuzzingForHorror’s post claims that those on set had “scary” experiences and reported strange happenings. Though Ridgway did exist, I’m not sure what their source is, so take all of this with a heavy grain of salt.
Passenger follows a couple on “van life” who witness a horrific accident; afterward, they’re pursued by a demonic force that won’t let them escape.
The film stars Jacob Scipio (Bad Boys for Life, The Outpost, and Without Remorse), Lou Llobell, and Melissa Leo (The Fighter).
Take a ride with Passenger when it drives into theaters on May 22, 2026 via Paramount Pictures.
