‘Longlegs’ – Next Film Sets 2028 Date with the Devil!

Big news for Longlegs fans, as Paramount has set the date for the next film set in the universe created by Oz Perkins, slated to release January 14th, 2028, reports THR.
Perkins will return to direct from his own screenplay, and Nicolas Cage will return as the gonzo title antagonist. The film is not a sequel though, instead described as something, “set in the Longlegs universe”.
Longlegs was an out-of-nowhere hit when released by Neon in 2024, launching Perkins as a name horror filmmaker and establishing the star bonafides of Maika Monroe. The actress starred as an FBI agent, with an aptitude for clairvoyance, who investigates a series of murder-suicides in Oregon that are connected to a serial killer nicknamed Longlegs.
Longlegs earned $128 million worldwide on a budget of less than $10 million, becoming Neon’s highest-grossing domestic outing.
Perkins went to direct horror movies The Monkey and Keeper and has wrapped production on his latest scary movie, The Young People, which stars Nicole Kidman, Lola Tung and Nico Parker.
Apparently, Neon stepped away when the next Longlegs‘ scope and budget began to exceed what the studio was comfortable with.
2028 can’t get here soon enough.
