Striking ‘Faces of Death’ Artwork Prepares for New Footage
Independent Film Company has unveiled two new pieces of art to prepare us for the brand-new Faces of Death trailer arriving tomorrow.
The poster displays a plastic-wrapped mannequin with red X’s over its eyes, creating a cold, voyeuristic horror image that blends clinical sterility with implied violence. I love it.
Directed by CAM‘s Daniel Goldhaber, the new Faces of Death is co-written by Isa Mazze and stars Barbie Ferreira, Dacre Montgomery, Josie Totah, Charli XCX, and Jermaine Fowler.
The official synopsis reads, “Faces of Death continues the exploration of the original film’s infamous ‘Is it real or not?’ conceit, as a woman (Ferreira) working as a content moderator for a major video platform discovers what appears to be re-enactments of murders from the original film. In an online world where nothing can be trusted, she must determine whether the violence is fiction or unfolding in real time.”
The reboot of John Alan Schwartz’s controversial 1978 pseudo-documentary opens in theaters April 10, from IFC and Shudder.
