Paramount Carves Out ‘A Little Slice of Hell’ for ‘Light Out’ Director David F. Sandberg

Swedish genre filmmaker David F. Sandberg (Light Out, Annabelle: Creation, Until Dawn) has attached to direct A Little Slice of Hell, a horror film in development at Paramount Pictures based on a short story of the same name by John Goodrich, reports Deadline.

While plot details for the feature are under wraps, the story follows two underpaid supermarket employees who realize that they should have read the employee manual after encountering a customer from Hell – literally.

The setup suggests a horror-comedy dynamic, with workplace satire colliding with demonic mythology.

Goodrich published the original in the first issue of Assemble Artifacts, the short story magazine from Assemble Media.

Johnny Pariseau, Patrick Gooing and Molly Milstein will produce for Maximum Effort, alongside Jack Heller, Caitlin de Lisser-Ellen for Assemble, and Lotta Losten.
