Chilling New ‘The Mummy’ Trailer Has Serious ‘Evil Dead’ Vibes!
To build hype for the first full The Mummy trailer, New Line Cinema had a little fun and live-streamed a sarcophagus this morning…with someone pounding from within. It ended with the release of the trailer, which unwrapped a ton of great footage.
In the film, the young daughter of a journalist disappears into the desert without a trace—eight years later, the broken family is shocked when she is returned to them, as what should be a joyful reunion turns into a living nightmare.
The trailer is quite chilling, with the daughter returning as a nearly rotted corpse after being found inside a sarcophagus. Things quickly descend into chaos as she’s biting people and ripping off her own skin, channeling some of the best of director Lee Cronin‘s Evil Dead Rise.
Cronin had previously promised that it would “be unlike any Mummy movie you ever laid eyeballs on before.” Further adding: “I’m digging deep into the earth to raise something very ancient and very frightening.”
Starring are Jack Reynor (Midsommar), Laia Costa (“The Wheel of Time”), May Calamawy (“Moon Knight”), Veronica Falcón (“Ozark”), May Elghety (Clash), Natalie Grace (“1923”), Shylo Molina (“The Afterparty”), and Billie Roy (Spirit Halloween: The Movie).
The Mummy will be unwrapped in theaters on April 17, 2026, from Blumhouse, Atomic Monster, and New Line Cinema.
