Zach Cregger’s Next Film Is Allegedly ‘Flood’?

Currently in post-production on his interpretation of the popular video game Resident Evil, Zach Cregger could already be eyeing his next horror film.
The Barbarian and Weapons director is allegedly shopping a screenplay titled Flood, which was first reported by @cinemawirenews on X before the post was removed. It was confirmed by an extremely prominent writer in the industry who shared a photo of the screenplay.
Dread learned that Flood is a sci-fi thriller that’s very Alien-esque, following a deep-space captain who leads her crew to investigate a cryptic signal from a distant world, only to uncover an alien artifact that warps time, reality, and their sanity, forcing them into a confrontation with an incomprehensible intelligence.
We also heard this project was initially set up at Netflix and even had extremely prominent directors looking to attach themselves at one point. It’s allegedly an incredible screenplay.
No matter, Flood is a real screenplay written by Cregger and a real project being shopped. Dread will update you as soon as we have more information.
In the meantime, Resident Evil is shambling into theaters on September 18 from Sony Pictures.
