‘The Mummy’: Unwrap the First Images and Teaser Poster!

'The Mummy' Gets a Teaser Poster and Cryptic Message From Director Lee Cronin

Blumhouse, Atomic Monster, and New Line Cinema share with Dread Central the very first teaser poster for Lee Cronin‘s The Mummy, a unique new take on the iconic Universal Monster that hails from the director of Evil Dead Rise.

Included with the art was a cryptic message from Cronin, which we used AI to crack:

“In ancient Egyptian civilization, dark spirits and visions of the dead were never an illusion. Some that passed over were gone forever, but an unlucky few were consumed by a darkness far more evil than anyone could have ever imagined.
Today it begins.”

Cronin had previously promised that it would “be unlike any Mummy movie you ever laid eyeballs on before.” Further adding: “I’m digging deep into the earth to raise something very ancient and very frightening.”

He also shares the first images with IGN, explaining that The Mummy is “one part Poltergeist and one part Se7en, but put through my lens and the way that I like to entertain people.” He promises, “This is a very different kind of Mummy movie.”

The poster itself carries the tagline: “What happened to Katie?”, seemingly implying that this Mummy might actually be female, and that she suffered a grim fate before being wrapped, embalmed, and sealed inside a tomb.

The Mummy will be unwrapped in theaters on April 17, 2026.

Starring are Jack Reynor (Midsommar), Laia Costa (“The Wheel of Time”), May Calamawy (“Moon Knight”), Veronica Falcón (“Ozark”), May Elghety (Clash), Natalie Grace (“1923”), Shylo Molina (“The Afterparty”), and Billie Roy (Spirit Halloween: The Movie).
