Finn Wolfhard Teases Return to Derry in Future “IT” Project!
Finn Wolfhard became a household name when he starred as Mike Wheeler in Netflix’s “Stranger Things” and studios took advantage of his Spielberg-esque appearance by casting him as Richie Tozier in the adaptation of Stephen King’s It. Now that he’s finished battling Vecna in the decade-running “Stranger Things”, which concluded last night, Wolfhard could make his return to Derry in an unknown IT universe project, he teases.
In an interview with Esquire, the mag asks Wolfhard about the photo of his character from IT appearing in the “IT: Welcome to Derry” season 1 finale. His response has fans erupting.
“When they first started thinking about that show, it was probably 2021. Barbara and Andy Muschietti both told me, ‘You’re involved.’ Yeah, I’m connected. I think there’s something else that will come up eventually that I’m excited for people to see.”
The season 1 finale teases a time paradox that allows Pennywise to experience time differently than we do. In this scenario, Richie could make his return in several different ways in a future season of “Welcome to Derry”.
