Thankfully, Netflix is already several steps ahead of us, having already announced and shared the first-look images from the canonized animated series, “Stranger Things: Tales From ’85”.
Debuting this year, “Tales From ’85” is set in the “Stranger Things” universe between Seasons 2 and 3 and features characters fans already know and love — but with a twist:
“The year is 1985, it’s a freezing winter in Hawkins, and our heroes are about to embark on an epic journey where the original characters must fight new monsters and unravel a paranormal mystery terrorizing their town.”

“With animation, there’s really no limits,” Ross Duffer says in a new first-look asset released on Stranger Things Day. “Eric and his team can just go wild … and they have.”
Robles, who is executive producing the project via Flying Bark Productions, notes that the series will capture “the magic of Hawkins in a new way,” adding, “get your flashlight, get your backpack because it’s going to be amazing.”
The animated series hails from showrunner Eric Robles and Stranger Things co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer.
