Chris Wood Is Next to Join The Vampire Diaries Season 6Another recurring character has been added to the upcoming sixth season of “The Vampire Diaries,” and it’s someone who’s quite familiar with the concept of keeping secrets in written form. Chris Wood, formerly of “The Carrie Diaries,” is heading to Mystic Falls!

Per TV Guide, Wood (who has also appeared in “Girls” and “Major Crimes”) will play Kai, a “charmingly unstable newcomer with the unsettling ability to seem normal as the situation demands. He can be both playful and obsessive with a mix of adolescent angst.”

The show returns on October 2nd, and Kai will be introduced during Episode 6.03.

Along with Wood and the previously announced Gabrielle Walsh and Colin Ferguson, TV Fanatic learned that Marco James, Emily C. Chang, Jayson Warner Smith, and Jodi Lyn O’Keefe are also slated to appear in Season 6.

James will portray Liam, a “cocky, but good-natured” medical student from a family of doctors (look for him in the season premiere); Chang will be a “wild girl next door”; Smith will play someone who runs a high-end hot rod shop; and O’Keefe will appear as Jo, a doctor.

There will be a substantial time jump when the show resumes in the fall, and we’ll have more for you during San Diego Comic-Con, where the “TVD” powers-that-be will no doubt reveal a few hints of what’s ahead during the show’s July 26th panel and press event.
