A Genre-Bending Thriller Is Dominating the Hulu Charts: “Some funny super meta moments”

F*** Marry Kill

I fell in love with Lucy Hale back when she came onto the scene as part of the Pretty Little Liars cast. She never fails to brighten my day. Even when Hale is in a movie that’s decidedly beneath her, I’ll sit through it because she’s almost always an engaging and accessible presence. I think a lot of people have a similar reaction to her output. Case in point: Even though the comedic thriller F*** Marry Kill isn’t widely regarded as a standout effort, the flick now sits as the most-watched title on the Hulu platform. I posit that the picture’s success on the streamer has something to do with Hale’s inherent charm.

In the new thriller:

Thrust into the dating app world by her best friends, true-crime junkie Eva Vaugh suddenly finds herself at the center of a real murder case. As new details come to light, she soon realizes that one of the three men she’s dating could be the infamous Swipe Right Killer.

I believe my peer Chad Collins (a fellow Lucy Hale enthusiast) summed up F*** Marry Kill rather effectively in his critique for Dread Central. Though he is fully aware of the lack of depth, Collins ultimately has some fun with the film as a whole, saying:

F*** Marry Kill has nothing to say, and what little there is being shared is arguably problematic. It’s not worth marrying, but it doesn’t deserve to be killed either. The pleasure might last just five minutes, but there are worse Fs out there. Just ask the movie to leave right after.”

If you need further convincing after Chad’s admittedly lukewarm endorsement, keep reading for a sampling of encouraging social media reactions below.

So, while it may not be top-tier entertainment, people are still having a good time with F*** Marry Kill. If you’d like to see where you stand on this one, you know just what to do. Make your way over to Hulu and give the flick a shot.

That’s just about all that we have for you at present, dear reader. Make sure to stay tuned to Dread Central in the very near future for more timely and exciting updates from the streaming scene.
