A Deadly Game of Poker

Clubs, Spades and Murder?I’ve enjoyed plenty a nights of poker with my friends. Sure, we’d drink heavily and attempt minor dentistry on our passed out pals, but we never murdered each other. What if you discovered someone breaking into your home during a get-together?

The Poker Club, adapted from Ed Gorman’s novel, is the story of such a case. During a late night game of poker, four long-time friends discover a burglar in the residence. After a confrontation the mysterious intruder is accidentally killed, and our card-loving quartet decides it’s best to hide the body and swear to silence. No harm, no foul … but someone else witnessed these events and wants revenge.

The Poker Club will be directed by Tim McCann (Runaway) with a screenplay authored by Johnathon Schaech and Richard Chizmar (writers of the From a Buick 8 screenplay as well as the upcoming Masters of Horror episode “The Washingtonians”). Location scouting is under way for the film, and cameras should roll later this year or early 2007. More on this as we get it!
