Here at Dread Central we love Ashley Bell, and any time word comes that she’s in something genre-related, we get all bent up like Nell from The Last Exorcism in anticipation! That being said, her latest flick, Sparks, is getting ready to hit DVD, and we have an exclusive clip and more!
Directed by Christopher Folino (The Troll, Gamers) and Todd Burrows, Sparks stars Bell along with Chase Williamson (John Dies at the End), Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption), Clint Howard (How the Grinch Stole Christmas), Jake Busey (Starship Troopers), and William Katt (“The Greatest American Hero”).
Look for it on DVD and Digital Download on March 18, 2014, via Image Home Entertainment.
Synopsis
After a radioactive meteor strikes Earth, a genetically altered group, known as The Rochester 13, gain astonishing, superhuman powers. Ian Sparks (Williamson) doesn’t feel remotely super… but after his parents’ death, he throws himself into battle against the criminals plaguing the mean streets of New York. Teaming up with, and falling hard for, the beautiful Lady Heavenly (Bell), the unstoppable duo quickly decimate the city’s army of thugs. But when they tangle with the nation’s most twisted arch-villain, they end up losing everything — including each other. Sparks’ rage-fueled quest for vengeance ignites a battle that will change the world and alter his destiny forever.
