Jeff Goldblum Looking Toward Independence Day SequelThe Huffington Post caught up with actor Jeff Goldblum to find out if he’d be making a return to Jurassic Park in Jurassic World, but alas, he hasn’t spoken with anyone connected to the project. However, about that Independence Day sequel…

“Yeah, they’ve talked to me about it and I’ve talked to them about it and they’re excited and I’m anxious and eager to see,” says Goldblum. “I haven’t read anything — what they cook up. You know, I think they’re trying to put it together.”

Roland Emmerich is still attached to direct with Dean Devlin set to produce. James Vanderbilt penned the script.

Roland Emmerich’s 1996 blockbuster Independence Day hit theaters on July 3, 1996, and went on to gross a still-impressive $817 million worldwide.

Look for the new flick in theatres on July 1, 2016 — or almost exactly 20 years after the original hit the big screen.
