‘The Seasons’: Get An Exclusive Sneak Peek At The Boundary-Breaking Horror Comic
Coming soon from writer Rick Remender (Black Science) and artist Paul Azaceta (Outcast) is The Seasons, a boundary-breaking horror comic about four sisters and sinister forces. It’s been described as “an elevated tale of whimsical horror unlike anything ever experienced in comics” and it’s set to debut early next year with a double-length premiere issue from Image Comics.
In The Seasons:
Summer, Winter, Spring and Autumn are the Seasons Sisters, the daughters of the world-renowned Seasons Detectives. Ten years ago, their famous parents disappeared. Left to raise themselves, the sisters formed an unbreakable bond. Now that bond is tested as the sisters fall prey to sinister forces. The youngest sister, Spring, is the last hope of saving them from a fate worse than death. Will Spring be able to piece her shattered family back together before it’s too late for them all?
Remender exclusively told Dread Central, “It’s difficult to talk about a mystery that is built to misdirect and unravel with numerous big reveals and not give things away… but the Ringleader represents an evil in our modern world, a curse he inflicts upon every town he is invited to, and it’s an evil that we all know too well and one that far too many of us have succumb to. My favorite type of creepy story hides the ball for a good long while leading me with a trail of breadcrumbs to figure it out on my own. That’s the kind of story this is.”

Artist Azaceta added, “Creating the look for the Ringleader was a challenge. Balancing something fun and lively with a menace behind every gesture. The permanent smile on the Ringleaders mask and the unblinking eyes can be really unsettling. I’ve had blast playing with how he delivers his seemingly friendly lines. It’s those kinds of characters that always scared me more. Instead of the big monster who chases you with claws, it’s the one that looks inviting and leads you to your own doom.”
The Seasons #1 comes to wherever you get comics on January 15, 2024.
