Philip Seymour Hoffman Being Digitally Recreated for The Hunger Games - Can it Work? The film world is still reeling from the tragic passing of actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, and news has come that Lionsgate is looking to digitally recreate him for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, in which Hoffman had one remaining key scene left to be shot.

Can this work? Has technology already advanced that far? A DC reader sent in the test rendering you see below. Mind you, it’s not movie quality just yet, but apparently it can be done. Hopefully the studio and the artists will do the man proud.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 will be in theatres on November 21st, 2014, with Part 2 following on November 20th, 2015.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Book Synopsis
