‘The Power Of The Strike’ Poster Teases One Hellish Night at The Bowling Alley [Exclusive]
Closely following a successful screening at the 2024 Beyond Fest, writer and director Dima Barch has given Dread Central an exclusive first look at the official poster for his extreme queer horror short The Power of the Strike! Barch’s second short has had an extremely successful festival fun this year, with screenings at Panic Fest, Salem Horror Fest, and more.
Check out the poster below, which gives you a taste of the delicious neon aesthetics Barch adopts throughout:
The Power of the Strike is inspired by the anxiety of fleeing, alienation, and vulnerability of a queer person as the Other, particularly inspired by Barch’s own experience fleeing Russia just a few years ago. Barch also draws from the works of George A. Romero, Brian De Palma, Gregg Araki, Carter Smith, Panos Cosmatos, and Joe Begos.
Barch told Dread Central earlier this year,
“With almost no money in Berlin, where I knew just a few people before the filming and on post-production from all over the world, this short stemmed from such a strong desire to make something with my friends and a bunch of crazy enthusiasts to celebrate my favorite punk rock filmmakers.”
Vitaly Zaytsev was the film’s director of photography. Daniel Lazarev produced the film with Anatoly Sergeev, Tomas Roldan, and Denis Kozhaev serving as co-producers.
The Power of the Strike comes to SCREAMBOX this month!
