‘Sleep’ Exclusive Clip Teases Late Night Horrors In New Korean Shocker
Writer and director Jason Yu has worked with some of the greatest contemporary Korean directors, from Bong Joon-ho (Parasite) to Lee Chang-dong (Burning). Now, his feature film debut Sleep is about to be unleashed on the world and we here at Dread Central simply cannot wait for you to experience what Yu has in store.
In the film:
Newlyweds Hyun-su and Soo-jin’s domestic bliss is disrupted when Hyun-su begins speaking in his sleep, ominously stating, “Someone’s inside.” From that night on, whenever he falls asleep, Hyun-su transforms into someone else, with no recollection of what happened the night before. Overwhelmed with anxiety that he may hurt himself or their young family, Soo-jin can barely sleep because of this irrational fear. Despite treatment, Hyun-su’s sleepwalking only intensifies, and Soo-jin begins to feel that her unborn child may be in danger.
We have an exclusive clip from the film that teases what happens when Hyun-su falls asleep…

In his review of the film from the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, Dread Central’s Josh Korngut wrote,
“Sleep is a confident, contained, and character-driven debut from a filmmaker who shows a ton of promise. This is a quiet film that might end up flying beneath the radar, but on close inspection, it’s fun, frightening, and downright bizarre. It’s definitely worth a watch for horror fans.”
The late Lee Sun-kyun stars in the film alongside Jung Yu-mi.
Sleep comes to theaters and digital on September 27, 2024.
