As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers wage war for the fate of humanity itself.

Regina King play Ruby Wain, the smart and accomplished manager of philandering rock star Gabriel Bolivar (Jack Kesy), while Melanie Merkosky plays Jim Kent’s (Sean Astin) wife, Sylvia, who is suffering from cancer.

“The Strain,” aiming for a July 2014 debut for its 13-episode first season, also stars Mia Maestro, Kevin Durand, Natalie Brown, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Robert Maillet, Ben Hyland, and Miguel Gomez.
