Blumhouse Games Announces 2024 Slate At Summer Game Fest
As usual, the Summer Game Fest was full of highly anticipated announcements and several surprises for gamers. Among those surprises was a first-look trailer showcasing all the terrifying titles Blumhouse Games is slated to release in 2024 and beyond.
Blumhouse Games was launched in 2023 as a subsidiary of Blumhouse Productions with the stated mission of publishing viciously scary video games from indie developers highlighting horror from around the world. “In many ways, Blumhouse Games feels like going back to our roots, with a focus on indie horror, pushing boundaries and elevating new, original stories,” says Jason Blum, namesake and founder of Blumhouse Productions.
Zach Wood, President of Blumhouse Games, said “Our upcoming titles represent standout storytelling, inventive play styles, and fresh approaches to scary stories, created by game developers who are deeply passionate about horror.”
Fear the Spotlight
Their first release is set to cast its shadow with Fear the Spotlight, a creepy retro adventure puzzler with a low poly aesthetic developed by Cozy Game Pals. Fear the Spotlight finds players joining Vivian and Amy as they uncover the decades-old secrets of a tragedy that befell their school in this throwback to 90’s teen terror.

In this waking nightmare from Cory Davis (Spec Ops: The Line) and Robin Finck (Nine Inch Nails), players will confront death cults, experiments gone wrong, and the terror known only as The HUSH.

Vermila Studios, based in Madrid, Spain, secures the first spot belonging to an international dev team with their first-person folk survival horror, Crisol: Theater of Idols, set in a nightmarishly reimagined Spain. Players will come to understand true sacrifice in a world steeped in folklore and religion where their own blood must be given as it is the only weapon against the terror lying in wait.

Grave Seasons
Developer Perfect Garbage might have a perfect hit on their hands with Grave Seasons.
