Christina Ricci Commits Patricide in Lizzie Borden Took an AxeAs we told you this past summer, Lifetime signed Christina Ricci to star in its upcoming biopic about Lizzie Borden, and now we have more details and artwork for Lizzie Borden Took an Ax.

The film also stars Billy Campbell as Borden’s lawyer and Clea DuVall (Zodiac, Argo) as her sister. Lizzie Borden Took an Ax, directed by Nick Gomez (“Dexter,” “FlashForward,” “Burn Notice”), will premiere on Lifetime January 25th at 8:00 pm ET.

Synopsis
It’s not just a disturbing nursery rhyme! Now the true story of how Lizzie Borden murdered her parents (or did she?) in the summer of 1892 is being brought to Lifetime, with Christina Ricci as the eponymous Lizzie. The true-crime case captured national attention when it first happened, proving that Americans’ obsession with scandalous and sordid tales is nothing new.

Will Steven Spielberg Reboot E.T.?

Published

on

Henry Thomas has been doing pretty well in the horror genre these last few years, with stand out roles in Mike Flanagan’s Ouija: Origin of Evil and Gerald’s Game. But no matter what the man ever does, he will always be Elliot from Steven Spielberg’s E.T. to us.

And speaking of E.T., Thomas was recently asked by Closer Weekly if there was any chance of the classic film getting the reboot/revamp treatment.

I don’t think Steven Spielberg wants to touch it,” Thomas said. “And I know he won’t let anyone else. You don’t want to cheapen the original. As soon as we’re all dead, I’m sure they’ll revamp it.”

Thank the fucking Lord. So rest easy, folks. It looks like our beloved E.T. is safe and sound – at least for the next few decades. The original film was directed by Steven Spielberg and starred Henry Thomas, Drew Barrymore, Peter Coyote, and Dee Wallace.

Would you be excited for a sequel/reboot of E.T.? Make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

Synopsis:

After a gentle alien becomes stranded on Earth, the being is discovered and befriended by a young boy named Elliott (Henry Thomas). Bringing the extraterrestrial into his suburban California house, Elliott introduces E.T., as the alien is dubbed, to his brother and his little sister, Gertie (Drew Barrymore), and the children decide to keep its existence a secret. Soon, however, E.T. falls ill, resulting in government intervention and a dire situation for both Elliott and the alien.

Harrelson’s Carnage Only Has a Small Role in VENOM Starring Tom Hardy

Published

on

Two months back we let you guys know that there was a rumor floating around that Woody Harrelson was going to be playing Carnage in Marvel’s upcoming R-rated adaptation of Venom starring Tom Hardy.

Carnage creator David Michelinie responded to the casting choice over on Facebook saying, “Harrelson’s a good actor and has a decent range. He’s played nutso characters in the past, but I guess we’ll have to wait until October to see just how far he can ramp it up. Fingers crossed.”

And today we have word that whether or not Harrelson is playing Carnage or not, his role will be fairly small – at least this time around.

I’m in a little fraction of this movie,” Harrelson told Collider. “But I’ll be in the next one, you know? So I haven’t read that script, but anyway, just rolled the dice.”

This makes me think that Harrelson’s Carnage will be an ending teaser. What do you think? Make sure to hit us up and let us know in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, and Reid Scott. It infects theaters on October 5th.

The Real Reason Shane Black Directed THE PREDATOR

Published

on

Later this summer we will be hit by Shane Black and Fred Dekker’s reboot The Predator starring Tom Jane. And one of the cooler bits of trivia that I’m sure you know – but it will still impress your friends – is that Black played a significant role in the original film by John McTiernan.

He played Hawkins. And that was always, we felt, reason enough for Black to sign on to direct the classic alien action film’s newest installment. But it turns out, Black has other reasons as well.

I just thought that it was a great, iconic alien,” Black told Cinema Blend. “And, what separated it from other alien invasion movies wasn’t just a space plot, it was an actual space creature with a mythos and a sense of honor, in some respect. A mission. And, a sense of humor, oddly. The idea of the game it plays. It’s rare that the Predator shows humor, but there are moments where you see it almost look at someone like, ‘Really?’

Are you excited for The Predator to arrive? Make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

The Predator is directed by Shane Black from a script written by Black and Fred Dekker and stars Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Yvonne Strahovski, Olivia Munn, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey, and Edward James Olmos. The film hits theaters nationwide September 14, 2018.

Synopsis:

From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
