‘Satanic Hispanics’: Dread’s Unmissable Horror Anthology Hits Shudder Next Month!

Satanic Hispanics

Are you one of the genre fans who have been impatiently waiting for a chance to watch Dread’s Latin horror anthology, Satanic Hispanics? If so, your wait is almost over. After an impressive festival run that began with Fantastic Fest in 2022, the movie will make its way to Shudder this March.

If you love anthologies and want more genre movies created by POC, this movie is definitely for you. That should describe most horror fans, but I will tell you more about this bloody little title anyway. The film’s official synopsis reads:

“When police raid a house in El Paso, they find it full of dead Latinos, and only one survivor. He’s known as The Traveler, and when they take him to the station for questioning he tells them those lands are full of magic and talks about the horrors he’s encountered in his long time on this earth, about portals to other worlds, mythical creatures, demons, and the undead.”

Satanic Hispanics has segments directed by Mike Mendez, Demian Rugna, Eduardo Sánchez, Gigi Saul Guerrero, and Alejandro Brugues. The script was written by Alejandro Mendez, Demian Rugna, Adam Cesare, and Lino K. Villa.

The powerhouse cast includes Efren Ramirez (Napoleon Dynamite), Greg Grunberg (Star Wars IX), Jacob Vargas (Sons Of Anarchy), Hemky Madera (Weeds), and Patricia Velasquez (The Mummy).

Satanic Hispanics will arrive on Shudder on March 8. The movie began a limited theatrical release on September 14, 2023. It arrived on video on demand on November 14, 2023.

I caught the movie at SOHO Horror Fest in 2022. So, I am excited for more people to see it so we can all talk about it. Let me know if Satanic Hispanics is one of the movies you are eager to cross off your watch list at @misssharai.
