Stephen King “Urges you to watch” this New Horror Movie: “It’s absolutely brilliant”

Horror fans will finally be able to see Late Night with the Devil next month. Because the IFC Films and Shudder title has been making the festival rounds, only a select few people managed to see it. According to Entertainment WeeklyStephen King is in that small group of viewers. Luckily for the team behind the title, he enjoyed this terrifying tale.

King received a screener and took to Twitter to let the rest of us know the film was “absolutely brilliant.” The beloved horror scribe wrote that he “couldn’t take my eyes off it.”

This is one of those times I have to agree with Uncle Stephen. I finally caught the movie at a festival at the end of the year and was blown away. If Late Night with the Devil is not on your 2023 horror bingo card already, allow me to tell you why it should be.

Per the synopsis,

“October 31, 1977. Johnny Carson rival Jack Delroy hosts a syndicated late-night talk show ‘Night Owls’ that has long been a trusted companion to insomniacs around the country. A year after the tragic death of Jack’s wife, ratings have plummeted. Desperate to turn his fortunes around, Jack plans a Halloween special like no other, unaware that he is about to unleash evil into the living rooms of America.”

Late Night with the Devil was written and directed by Colin Cairnes and Cameron Cairnes. The film stars David Dastmalchian, Laura Gordon, Ian Bliss, Ingrid Torelli, Fayssal Bazzi, and Rhys Auteri.

Late Night with the Devil arrives in theaters on March 22. It will hit Shudder on April 19.
