One of the Original Tomorrow People Signs on to The CW's RemakeIf you’re a fan of the original “The Tomorrow People,” which aired in the UK in the 70’s, and are wondering whether or not to tune in to The CW’s remake, one very big reason to at least check it out has arrived via some casting news…

TV Guide reported earlier this week that Nicholas Young, who starred as John in the British series, has been cast in a recurring role in the updated version. Young will appear in the eighth and ninth episodes as Aldus Crick, the scientist who first discovered and studied the original generation of Tomorrow People. Stephen (Robbie Amell) believes that Aldus, a friend of his father’s, may have information concerning his dad’s disappearance. However, by helping Stephen find his father, Aldus puts himself back on ULTRA’s radar and in danger with the very organization that forced him into hiding.

Young’s former character, John, is played by Luke Mitchell in the remake. Young was the only cast member who stayed with the original “Tomorrow People” for its entire six-year run. Anyone want to place your bets as to whether or not the new incarnation will last that long?

Along with the casting update, we have a look at an “Amellsdays” video from The CW starring cousins Stephen Amell and Robbie Amell that promotes the premieres of “Arrow” and “The Tomorrow People” on Wednesday, October 9th.

“The Tomorrow People” Episode 1.01 – “Pilot” (airs 10/9/13, 9-10pm; repeats 10/11/13, 8-9pm) – SERIES PREMIERE
THE UNKNOWN — When Stephen Jameson (Robbie Amell) begins hearing voices and waking up in strange places, he starts to question his sanity. In desperation, Stephen decides to listen to one of the voices in his head, and it leads him to his first encounter with the Tomorrow People — John (Luke Mitchell), Cara (Peyton List), and Russell (Aaron Yoo) — a genetically advanced race with the abilities of telekinesis, teleportation, and telepathic communication. The Tomorrow People inform him that they are being hunted down by a paramilitary group of scientists known as Ultra, led by Dr. Jedikiah Price (Mark Pellegrino).

Meanwhile, Stephen gets another surprise that leads him down his own path, which he hopes will help him uncover the truth about his father’s (guest star Jeffrey Pierce, “Alcatraz”) mysterious disappearance. Madeleine Mantock also stars. Danny Cannon directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti, Julie Plec, and Phil Klemmer and teleplay by Phil Klemmer.
