‘The First Omen’: Legacy Prequel Gets Official Trailer and Release Date [Watch]

It seems evil is afoot! 20th Century Studios just dropped a new trailer for the upcoming prequel to The Omen (1976). In addition to the bad vibes this peak at The First Omen gave us, it also confirmed that we have a date with darkness when the movie arrives in theaters on April 5, 2024. Here’s everything you need to know about this bundle of hell.

In the film,

“When a young American woman is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church, she encounters a darkness that causes her to question her own faith and uncovers a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.”

The First Omen is directed by Arkasha Stevenson. The screenplay was written by Tim Smith, Arkasha Stevenson, and Keith Thomas. It’s based on The Omen, written by David Seltzer. The film stars Nell Tiger Free, Tawfeek Barhom, Sônia Braga, Bill Nighy, and Ralph Ineson.

The original The Omen was directed by Richard Donner and starred Gregory Peck and Lee Remick. This prequel will be the sixth time this evil property makes its way onto the big screen if you include the 2006 remake. The story also found its way onto the small screen with the short-lived series Damien.

If you want to marathon the previous films to prep for The First Omen they are all available on Hulu. Sadly, the series is only available on VOD at the moment.
