Museum Draws Controversy After Displaying a Satanic Christmas Tree: “Hail Santa” [Horror IRL]
The Satanic Temple is back at it, doing the Dark Lord’s work. This time, the religious organization is drawing backlash after The National Railroad Museum in Ashwaubenon, WI selected the Temple as one of 60+ organizations to display a Christmas tree in their holiday display.
Not surprisingly, the Satanic Temple got a little cheeky with their decor and used red lights, a snake-like creature, upside-down crosses, pentagrams, and an ornament that reads: ‘Hail Santa’.

Other religious groups are already getting up in arms and condemning the museum’s decision to include a tree decorated by the Satanic Temple. Bishop David L. Ricken, with the Diocese of Green Bay, certainly had some pointed words for the museum in a statement regarding his thoughts on the display:
“Allowing a traditional understanding of Christmas to be usurped and desecrated by an organization/cult is divisive during a time of the year that we come together in unity as a community,” Ricken said. “Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. Displaying a Christmas tree with bright red lights, inverted crosses, pentagrams, and other satanic symbolism, with a snake wrapped around the tree where our savior belongs, is not something families and children should be exposed to at any time, but most especially during this Christmas season. The tree is offensive and harms the unity and joy that the Christmas season brings.”
I’m pleased to report that the museum isn’t backing down after drawing backlash and stands by its decision to allow the temple to contribute to the display.

The museum’s CEO, Jacqueline Frank, commented on the controversy in a conversation with Press Gazette, saying, “We’re not a religious organization. We focus on trains, and honestly, the Christmas tree is used by many different secular and religious organizations. All we’re doing is putting up decoration in that room.”
