“Brilliant” New Netflix True Crime Documentary Series Exposes the Shocking Life of Mafia Boss John Gotti

Netflix Gotti

Netflix true crime fans are in for an early treat this October, with Get Gotti dropping today on the streamer. The three-episode series follows the rise and fall of one of the most intriguing figures in organized crime from the makers of Fear City.

A boss of the Gambino crime family, John Gotti became one of the most captivating personalities in true crime during his time at the head of the table. Numerous trials and investigations were brought to his door, but nothing seemed to stick, leading the media to call him “The Teflon Don.”

Both glamourous and dangerous, Gotti and his cohort’s flamboyant lifestyle and penchant for violence would inspire much of what audiences see today regarding organized crime families on the screen.

Gotti was so interested in maintaining his public image that he would change suits during trial hearings after lunch. It’s also said that Gotti once sent someone to threaten Frank Sinatra for declining dinner with him. Stylish and rich, it is estimated he made more than $10 million a year during his reign as boss and once lost $60,000 on a dice game.

The new Netflix series Get Gotti is set to detail the FBI and New York state prosecutor’s arduous task of bringing John Gotti to justice from both sides of the law, with all three episodes of the mini-series available to binge right now.
