Evil Dead Remake Trailer Appears Online 80's Style with a Hint of Musky VHS It’s things like this the Internet was created for. Wonder what the trailer for the Evil Dead remake would look like if it were made in the 80s and on VHS? Thanks to YouTuber P. Parker, you don’t have to wonder anymore! The movie is now playing on Movies On Demand on Cable. It premiered July 16th, the same day as the DVD release, and will be airing on all cable systems around the country until mid-October.

Creators of the original The Evil Dead reunite to present this terrifying new vision of the classic tale about five 20-something friends who turn a remote cabin in the woods into a blood-soaked chamber of horrors after awakening an ancient demon. Directed by Fede Alvarez, EVIL DEAD opened No. 1 at the U.S. Box Office, and top 10 for all-time horror remakes. The ensemble cast includes Jane Levy (TV’s “Suburgatory”), Shiloh Fernandez (Red Riding Hood), Lou Taylor Pucci (Carriers), Jessica Lucas (Cloverfield) and Elizabeth Blackmore (Legend of the Seeker).

Exclusive to the Blu-ray is a cast and crew commentary track, as well as two all-new featurettes, exploring the origins and design of the new “Book of the Dead,” and featuring behind-the-scenes footage of cast rehearsals, insights from the original creators, and more. Both the Blu-ray and DVD come with three additional all-new featurettes on the making of the film, character transformations and the process of re-imagining a much-loved, horror classic.

EVIL DEAD was written by Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues, based on the motion picture “The Evil Dead,” written by Sam Raimi. It was produced by Rob Tapert (30 Days of Night), Sam Raimi (Spider-Man franchise) and Bruce Campbell (original Evil Dead series). Executive producers are Nathan Kahane (Hope Springs, The Grudge), Joe Drake (The Hunger Games, Juno), J.R. Young (The Possession), and Peter Schlessel (Drive). Co-producers are Nicole Brown (The Possession, 50/50) and Matthew Leonetti, Jr. (The Possession, The Amazing Spider-Man).

It has a run time of approximately 91 minutes and has been rated R for strong bloody violence and gore, some sexual content and language.

Synopsis:
