The internet is screaming today after discovering one of the best Star Wars movies was never produced. The project would’ve been directed by Guillermo del Toro and was written years ago by David Goyer. The tears started flowing after Josh Horowitz shared a clip from the Happy Sad Confused YouTube channel.

The guest for the most recent episode is filmmaker David Goyer, who told the host he wrote a Star Wars movie for del Toro to direct. However, the project was never made even though David says, “It’s a cool script.” Because David’s writing credits include Blade, Blade II, and Batman Begins, we believe him.

Josh’s reaction to this news was all of our reactions. Shock, disbelief, questioning how no one greenlit it and in that order. While we were trying to get our bearings again, Guillermo del Toro retweeted the clip and teased some clues that have sent the fandom spiraling even further.

Because Guillermo del Toro directed Blade II, we have a pretty good idea of what the duo is capable of. Knowing that this project has been kicking around for four years but has yet to be produced makes no sense. It seems like the easiest way to own the box office, but what do we know?
