Fans Are Calling The #1 Netflix Horror Movie ‘a modern version of Scream’

This new slasher seems to have made a huge impression on horror fans last week. Because it is still gutting the competition as it remains the #1 horror movie on Netflix (Non-English) Charts. Let us open the library one more time for Killer Book Club.

In the series:

“Eight young university students meet every week in a book club to share their passion for horror literature. After being accomplices in a costume prank that ends in a fatal accident and a pact of silence, the group of young people will be threatened by an anonymous writer who wants to reveal their dark secret. Their stalker threatens to publish on social networks a bloody horror novel based on them. With every chapter published, one of them will die. While they distrust each other, the group will start a fight for survival in the middle of a university campus. Any one of them could be the next victim…. or the killer.”

Killer Book Club was directed by Carlos Alonso-Ojea and written by Carlos Garcia Miranda. The movie stars Veki Velilla, Álvaro Mel, Priscilla Delgado, Iván Pellicer, María Cerezuela, Ane Rot, and Carmela Lloret.

Killer Book Club (2023)
It's a movie that takes a lot of influence from IKWYDLS and Scream, but doesn't lean into whether it wants to be a homage or if it wants to stand on its own. It's a serviceable slasher at least, has some gnarly kills and has a pretty good setting. 4.5 pic.twitter.com/M1usOpHonh
