“Outstanding” Denzel Washington Thriller Dominates Streaming Charts As Fans Pepare For New Sequel

Nothing makes me happier than seeing a Denzel Washington movie in the Top 10 Charts. We probably should have expected this one to reclaim a top spot because it is part of a series, with another installment hitting theaters tomorrow. The Equalizer is our Hulu King (via the Starz premium add-on) today. Let us get to know this action-packed thriller a bit better.

Rotten Tomatoes Synopsis

“Robert McCall (Denzel Washington), a man of mysterious origin who believes he has put the past behind him, dedicates himself to creating a quiet new life. However, when he meets Teri (Chloë Grace Moretz), a teenager who has been manhandled by violent Russian mobsters, he simply cannot walk away. With his set of formidable skills, McCall comes out of self-imposed retirement and emerges as an avenging angel, ready to take down anyone who brutalizes the helpless.”

Teri (CHLOE GRACE MORETZ) and McCall (DENZEL WASHINGTON) walk across the bridge in Boston in Columbia Pictures’ THE EQUALIZER.

The Equalizer is directed by Antoine Fuqua. It was written by Richard Wenk. It stars Denzel Washington, Marton Csokas, Chloë Grace Moretz, David Harbour, Bill Pullman, and Melissa Leo.

The movie is loosely based on the 1980s TV series of the same title created by Michael Sloan and Richard Lindheim. The film has spawned two sequels, including The Equalizer 3, which arrives in theaters on September 1st.

The series is wildly popular in no small part due to Denzel Washington thrillers being a constant source of joy. Viewers are also stuck on how attractive David Harbour is and are happy to see him outside of Stranger Things.
