‘The Unraveling’ Exclusive Trailer Throws You In A Parallel Universe

Filmmaking duo Kd Amond and Sarah Zanotti, co-founders of AZ If Productions, are known for their lo-fi examinations of complicated female characters through the lens of the horrific. And, judging by the exclusive trailer we have for their latest film, they’re still going strong. In their latest film The Unraveling, Amond and Zanotti are tackling parallel timelines and perceptions of time.

After suffering a traumatic brain injury from a car accident, Mary Dunne begins to believe that her husband, Grayson, has been replaced by an impostor. She receives phone calls from an unknown number with a voice that claims to be the “real Grayson.” Mary starts to suspect that she’s living in a parallel universe with impostors who are gaslighting her and keeping her against her will. She’s also haunted by a gruesome presence that makes her question her own sanity. The “real Grayson” tries to convince her to move on with her life and accept her new reality, but Mary can’t let go of the feeling that she’s not safe, leading her to become hostile. Tensions reach a breaking point when Mary finds out she is pregnant with the supposed impostor’s baby.

Zanotti stars in the film with Sam Brooks (Netflix’s Fear Street, Malum).
The Unraveling will have its world premiere this fall on the festival circuit.
