Here’s Your First Peek Of David Cronenberg’s Upcoming Horror Movie

David Cronenberg just wrapped production on his next horror movie. It seems The Shrouds will be his next project after last year’s Crimes Of The Future.

The news broke yesterday when lead actor Vincent Cassel shared a photo on Instagram. In the post, he thanked the master of body horror and the rest of the crew. Specifically, name-dropping Cronenberg, “Thank you, David Cronenberg, for your trust and indissoluble elegance.”

According to our friends at Collider, “Cassel will reportedly play Karsh in the film, who invents a device which helps him build a cemetery where visitors can watch the bodies of their loved ones decompose. However, he starts to re-evaluate his invention when people begin to vandalize the graves, including that of his wife.”

The Shrouds is written and directed by David Cronenberg. It stars Vincent Cassel, Guy Pearce, Diane Kruger, and From favorite Elizabeth Saunders.

While the film seems to be cloaked in a shroud of mystery, we are celebrating as if we got invited to the wrap party. While no release date has been announced yet, we can keep our fingers crossed that we will be grossed out by this Cronenberg project sometime next year.

We never know what to expect from someone who holds monikers like The Baron of Blood and King of Venereal Horror. However, we expect it to be a weird and gross kind of disturbing party, which is exactly what we are into.

Are you excited to have another Grampa Gooey film on the horizon? Then let us fangirl together at @misssharai. Also, tell me your favorite David Cronenberg movie while you are there. Or at least the one that grossed you out the most.
