‘The Unheard’ Director Jeffrey A. Brown On Crafting Sonic Landscape Of His New Film

The Unheard

After tackling cosmic horror in his feature film debut The Beach House, director Jeffrey A. Brown is moving onto sensory horror in his new film The Unheard. Instead of strange aquatic monsters, Brown is now painting a lo-fi picture of ghosts and predatory men with a script from Crawl scribes Michael Rasmussen and Shawn Rasmussen. The result is a strange and hypnotic tale about loneliness and family.

In The Unheard:

After undergoing an experimental procedure to restore her damaged hearing, 20-year-old Chloe Grayden (Lachlan Watson) begins to suffer from auditory hallucinations seemingly related to the mysterious disappearance of her mother.

Dread Central spoke with Brown about his new film, the power of sound in horror, and more.
