‘Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey’ Composer On The Terrifying Instruments Custom Made For The Film [Watch]

Winnie the Pooh

Music is an integral part of the horror experience. A misplaced musical sting or overly bombastic score can completely change the film’s tone and therefore impede its scares. Composer Andrew Scott Bell knows this well, having worked on films such as Deathcember and Psycho Storm Chaser. Now, he’s taking on a new kind of project: Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey.

Previously we reported on Bell’s bee violin, an instrument made by luthier Tyler Thackray, that Bell asked to use for this film’s score. But that isn’t the only instrument the two made together for just this film. No, Bell got very creative in crafting the film’s score.

Dread Central spoke with composer Andrew Scott Bell about how he crafted the sound of Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey, working with NAME, deconstructing classical instruments, and more. Plus, he gives a live music demo!
