Beloved ‘Halloween’ Stuntman James Winburn Dies at 85

The original Michael Myers stuntman passed away this week at age 85. James Winburn died on November 19 following an undisclosed illness according to his manager.

Halloween (1978) is a staple in the genre and is considered one of John Carpenter’s best films. While most people think of Nick Castle when they think of the original actor we call The Shape, Winburn did all of the wild stunts in the film. This includes when Dr. Loomis “shot him six times” before the iconic fall from the balcony at the end of the movie.
