Two Powerhouse Actresses Join American Horror Story: Coven

We don’t have any details, but per “American Horror Story” co-creator Ryan Murphy on Twitter, two more awesomely talented actresses have signed on for Season 3 of the series, subtitled “Coven.” Read on to see who’ll be taking on Jessica Lange for the title of TV’s biggest diva this fall!
Here’s Murphy’s tweet: “Two legends are joining the cast of American Horror Story: Coven — Oscar nominee Angela Bassett and Tony winner Patti LuPone!”
Bassett (below left) is an Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner for What’s Love Got to Do With It? (she also won a Saturn Award for Strange Days) while LuPone (below right) has twice been nominated for an Emmy Award and is a multiple Tony winner (Evita, Gypsy). Both true powerhouses, right? We can’t wait to find out more!
These two ladies will be joining the previously announced Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, and Jessica Lange, who won an Emmy for her Season 1 performance.
