Fans Are Calling This Netflix Original Horror Movie Terrifying And ‘Stress inducing’

The Netflix film The Chalk Line (also known as Jaula) dropped and has the internet stressed and crying. Described as a Spanish horror mystery and psychological thriller, it appeared on the streamer last month, and Twitter has been talking about it ever since. Some viewers have described the film as “too real” and articles diving into if it is a true story have been popping up left and right.

In the film, a couple finds a traumatized child of unknown origins, the two of them work together in an attempt to decipher the girl’s strange behaviours to unlock her identity and dark past.

The Chalk Line is directed by Ignacio Tatay, who also co-wrote it with Isabel Peña. The film stars Elena Anaya, Pablo Molinero, Eva Tennear, Eva Llorach, Carlos Santos, Esther Acebo, and Eloy Azorín.

At first glance, it’s giving The Babadook vibes at The Orphanage fashion week. And we love to see that energy from Netflix. We were intrigued even before the internet told us it’s chaos incarnate.

Check out the international trailer for The Chalk Line

From the Twitter reactions alone, this looks like a movie to add to this week’s horror watches. International horror is almost always a guaranteed good time, and kids in horror are terrifying, so the odds are good that The Chalk Line will be nightmare fuel. If it’s half as wild as the internet says it is then it might be the best way to combat the post-Halloween slump.
